PURE TIMBER, the Extreme Wood Bending company, has brought its expertise in thick solid snare shells to the Banjo. Made from a single plank of densified Hard Rock Maple that is 1" thick, the rim is turned to a final, single ply thickness of 3/4". Using their proprietary Cold-Bend™ hardwood, a denser, thick, one piece solid shell is created, with very little glue to interfere with the development of the sound. If you are looking for a replacement rim or would like to know of a luthier that uses PureTimbre™ banjo rims, please enquire and we will direct you to one of the luthiers we supply. If you are a luthier, you can purchase PureTimbre™ banjo rims below, or email or call to discuss the use of our PureTimbre™ products... chris.mroz@puretimber.com 1-253-988-2046

Reviews:
"Getting a first-rate tone from the PureTimbre™ rim was simply less work. The change from the Cooperrman rim to the PureTimbre™ rim was analagous to playing an electric guitar with and without a device called a compressor. I did not have to adjust my attack as precisely in order to get an even, pleasing response... the overall tone of the PureTimbre™ rim was fuller." see the full review by Mark Hickler, including numerous sound samples.
"This process has the potential to change the way shells are made in the future." "I give them an A+." see Ronnie Nichols full review.
